Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Reilly Bell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Redwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David Redwood looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Reilly Bell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, David Redwood! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksandr Martynov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bell misses the shot to the body. Redwood avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Redwood is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Bell throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Redwood tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bell paws at him with a jab and circles away. Bell takes the fight into the clinch. Redwood looking to throw knees to the head but Bell is blocking nicely.
Redwood tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Bell avoids it. Bell tries to circle away but Redwood has him pinned against the cage. Redwood is struggling to control the position. Bell has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Redwood creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Bell gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Redwood regains guard.
Redwood looking for a sweep. Not yet Redwood, not yet. Bell drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bell jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Bell scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Redwood preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Redwood is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bell is controlling him. Redwood keeping full guard, as Bell tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bell postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Redwood tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Bell counters by clinching up. Redwood tries to land knees in the clinch but Bell avoids the damage to the body. Redwood wants to stall.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Redwood throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Bell blocks it with crossed arms. Redwood looks gassed! Redwood is trying to maintain a safe position but Bell gets an underhook and turns Redwood into the cage. Redwood is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Redwood wants to stall.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bell circles away from the clinch attempt and Bell counters with a leg kick. A punch combination from Bell misses. Redwood tries to clinch but fails miserably and Bell counters with a nice uppercut. Redwood tries to clinch but fails miserably and Bell counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bell. Bell stands up over Redwood, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Bell with a flurry of punches that miss. Redwood looking to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Bell working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Redwood's head. Bell tries to stand but Redwood is controlling from the bottom. Bell throwing strikes from guard but Redwood blocks nicely. Bell has gone for a leg lock! Redwood slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bell's guard. Redwood trying to control the position from guard on top but Bell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Redwood gets to his feet. Bell looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Reilly Bell dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Redwood tries to clinch up and Bell counters with a left and a right that stings Redwood. Bell lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Bell will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Redwood closes the distance looking to clinch and Bell counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Bell finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Redwood stuffs the takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. No joy there for Bell, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Redwood looks to clinch and Bell counters with a series of strikes. Redwood will be more careful next time no doubt. Bell fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Redwood sprawls well initially but Bell persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Redwood is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Redwood is not content to let Bell control the position. Redwood avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bell. Redwood tries to get to full guard but Bell has control of the leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bell stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Redwood to get to his feet. Bell shoots for a takedown but Redwood saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Redwood wants to clinch but Bell slips to the side and Bell counters with a nice double leg into side control. Redwood won't be happy with that. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bell thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Bell looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Bell goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Redwood has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Bell but great work by Redwood.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Redwood decides to stand up, so the ref orders Bell to his feet. Redwood tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Bell decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Redwood's guard. Bell has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bell is looking to work some ground and pound but Redwood has wrist control. Redwood really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Redwood wants to stand up but Bell is controlling him. Bell drops back looking for a leg! Redwood is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Redwood manages to kick Bell off! Bell jumps back into Redwood's guard. Bell stands up and waves to Redwood to follow him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bell throws a sloppy head kick and Redwood moves out of range easily. Bell misses with a jab, cross combination.

Redwood tries to clinch but fails miserably and Bell counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Redwood's guard now. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bell postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Redwood is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bell, into his guard. Redwood postures up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Redwood gets to his feet - Bell follows without any prompting. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
