The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by ahr.
ahr tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cruz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten ahr somewhat.
ahr dives in and grabs Cruz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cruz pushes down on ahr's head and hops out.
ahr fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
No joy there for ahr, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
ahr moves into range and clinches up with Cruz.
ahr breaks the clinch.
Cruz shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Cruz wants to work for an arm triangle but ahr is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
ahr wants to control the action here but instead Cruz manages to pass to full mount!
Cruz trying to control but ahr is having none of it.
ahr defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Cruz.
Cruz is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Cruz!
