Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jeffrey The Dude (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeffrey The Dude!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Rogers!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The Dude looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Rogers!
The Dude fails to advance to Rogers's back.
Rogers tries to lock up and control but The Dude gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The Dude working for a guillotine from mount but Rogers is in no mood to give up.
Rogers wants to hold on but The Dude pushes him away.
The Dude can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rogers is looking to escape.
Rogers is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Rogers wants to control but The Dude is having none of it.
Rogers bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

The Dude has a closed guard, preventing Rogers from standing up.
Rogers trying to control the position from guard on top but The Dude is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The Dude is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rogers stands and throws The Dude's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The Dude is trying to escape the position but Rogers is controlling the position.

Rogers stands up and beckons The Dude to his feet.

The Dude moves into range and clinches up with Rogers.
A right handed body shot lands from Rogers.
Rogers is looking to break free of the clinch but The Dude has double underhooks.
The Dude is struggling to control the position.
Rogers is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Rogers's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Rogers stops a takedown attempt from The Dude.
Rogers tries to break free but The Dude pushes him back against the cage.

The Dude tries to stall but Rogers uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Rogers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The Dude doesn't manage to clinch there - Rogers circles away.
The Dude takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
The Dude is breathing heavily.

Rogers tries to keep at a distance but The Dude has taken the fight into the clinch.

Rogers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rogers tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

The Dude slips a jab and a cross from Rogers.
Rogers closes the distance but The Dude moves to the side

Rogers has The Dude pushed against the cage.

Rogers takes a swing at The Dude's ribcage but misses.
Rogers throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

The Dude keeps the fight on the outside.
The Dude slips a jab and a cross from Rogers.
The Dude shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rogers as he avoids it easily.
The Dude looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Rogers misses with a shot to the body

so The Dude counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rogers is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Rogers wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The Dude scoring with punches to the head and body.

The Dude drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and The Dude jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The Dude might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Rogers controls The Dude momentarily but The Dude frees himself.
Rogers manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jim Rogers will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


The Dude moves in looking to clinch but Rogers pushes him off.

The Dude changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rogers looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Rogers is looking for a sweep.
The Dude tries to move into full mount but can't pass Rogers's legs.
Rogers is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Rogers manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The Dude stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rogers swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rogers manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Jim Rogers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The Dude has Rogers up against the cage in a clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rogers breaks from the clinch.

Rogers just misses with a punch to the body.
Rogers fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rogers looks to land a right hand but The Dude moved out of range.
Rogers throws a hook to the side of The Dude's head but The Dude sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Rogers throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

The Dude fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rogers, pushing him back against the cage.
The Dude tries to pull guard but Rogers holds him up against the cage and eventually The Dude drops back down to his feet.

The Dude turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Rogers tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Rogers wants to escape the position but for the time being he's just trying to control the pace.
The Dude is not going to allow Rogers to sit and survive in this position.
Rogers is in bad spot here.
Rogers is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The Dude struggling to keep hold of the position.

The Dude looking for the choke but no joy.
Rogers wants to control his opponent's hands but The Dude gets his hands free.

What can Rogers do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rogers wants to control but The Dude is keeping busy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rogers misses with the combination.

The Dude shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The Dude wants to control but Rogers is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The Dude is thwarting Rogers's attempts to control the position.

Jeffrey The Dude dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Rogers stalks The Dude and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into The Dude's face. The Dude staggers backwards, shaken.
Rogers scores with a jab to the body.
The Dude misses with a hook. Rogers ducked under it nicely.
The Dude moves away from the strike by Rogers.

The Dude is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rogers doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time The Dude.

Rogers is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The Dude tries to clinch but Rogers moves out of range.
Rogers throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
The Dude shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Rogers misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Rogers comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Rogers is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Rogers keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
The Dude swings for the body but Rogers moves out of range.
The Dude uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rogers.

The Dude tries to close the distance and clinch but Rogers swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

The Dude closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rogers to the mat! Rogers manages to get full guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rogers can do anything to dispel that myth.

Rogers is looking to sweep but instead, The Dude has passed into half guard.
Rogers looks like he's trying to stand up.
The Dude not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. The Dude lands a nice short elbow.

Rogers has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. The Dude is working away from the top position though.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jeffrey The Dude.
