Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Hamill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo Abreu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abreu has chosen Sepultura - Roots Bloody Roots as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Felipe Paraventi and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abreu closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hamill circles away.

Abreu escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hamill gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Abreu seems to have recovered his senses.

Hamill distracts Abreu with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Hamill got a little sloppy there for a moment and Abreu has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hamill has managed to get both his arms back between Abreu's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Abreu bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hamill's guard.

Abreu wants to control from the top but Hamill keeps moving.
Abreu prevents Hamill from getting back to his feet.
Abreu postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hamill is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Abreu, into his guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hamill is trying to control the action in half guard but Abreu is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Abreu counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Abreu drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hamill dives on top into guard.
Hamill is sitting in close to Abreu's body. Abreu has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Hamill is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Hamill is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Abreu.
