Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tom Watson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Muay Thai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tom Watson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Muay Thai!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Viktor Lagutenko and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Thai looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Watson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Muay Thai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Watson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Thai trying to get back to full guard but Watson takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Watson controlling the pace for now.
Thai can't escape the position.

Watson content just to control the position here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thai looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Watson is riding his opponent, not letting Thai buck him off.
Thai is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Thai wants to escape the position.
Watson controlling from the back.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Thai looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
Watson has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Thai's body.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Watson has the hooks in. Thai is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Watson biding his time, looking for the opening.
Watson keeps control of the position as Thai tries to break free.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Watson trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Thai doesn't escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Watson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Watson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Thai pinned against the cage. Thai gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thai tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Watson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Thai!

Watson manages to capitalize on a mistake by Thai to take his back!

The referee stands the fighters back up. Tom Watson just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Thai tries to clinch up but Watson circles away and keeps his distance.

Watson shoots in for a takedown but Thai shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tom Watson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Thai misses with a takedown attempt

and Watson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Thai tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Watson has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Thai really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Thai tries to lock up and control but Watson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Thai tries to improve his position but instead Watson has taken his back!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Thai trying to control the position but Watson manages to sink in the hooks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tom Watson dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Watson has his takedown stuffed

and Thai counters by clinching up.
Watson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Watson misses with a body punch.
Thai trying to stall but Watson improves his position.
Thai missing with knees to the body.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Watson pulls guard successfully.
Thai wants to stand and escape but instead Watson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Watson controlling from the top position.

Watson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Thai for as long as he can get away with.

Thai working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Watson has passed into half guard!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Still in half guard, Watson seems content to control.
Thai tries to kick Watson off in order to stand up. Watson Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Watson moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Watson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Thai is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Watson is controlling him well.
Thai is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Thai wants to control but Watson postures up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tom Watson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Watson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
