Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alex Moribunda! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jeje Austria! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Emerson Jorge and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moribunda takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Moribunda tries to close the distance and clinch but Austria swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Austria keeps the fight on the outside. Austria throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Moribunda tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Austria was well out of range. Poor timing from Moribunda. Moribunda doesn't manage to clinch there - Austria circles away.
Austria leaves Moribunda with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Moribunda doesn't manage to clinch there - Austria circles away.
Austria has a takedown stuffed. Austria misses with a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Austria tries to clinch up. Moribunda throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Austria. Moribunda tries to close the distance and clinch but Austria swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Moribunda throws a right hand that Austria ducks under and follows up with a left that Austria also avoids with ease. Austria shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Moribunda sprawls well. Moribunda wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Austria gets slowly back to his feet.

Moribunda changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Austria looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Moribunda stands up and beckons Austria to his feet. Austria looks gassed! Moribunda throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Austria was covering up waiting for the punch and Moribunda finishes the takedown easily into guard. Moribunda sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Austria keeping moving, preventing Moribunda from controlling successfully. Austria keeping full guard, as Moribunda tries to pass. Moribunda is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Austria is trying to keep Moribunda in close.

The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Austria looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Austria! Austria decides to stand back up. Austria steps back and let's Moribunda get back to his feet. Moribunda throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Moribunda fails with a takedown attempt. The fighters circle momentarily. Moribunda darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Moribunda shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Austria pushes Moribunda off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. A telegraphed right hand from Moribunda misses the target. Austria tries to bum rush Moribunda with a series of wild strikes but Moribunda uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Austria tries to close the distance and clinch up but Moribunda swats him away and circles back towards the center. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Austria - that will leave a mark!
Moribunda ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Austria moves away. Moribunda wants to clinch. Austria misses with a low kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alex Moribunda dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Austria checks a leg kick. Moribunda throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Austria was covering up waiting for the punch and Moribunda finishes the takedown easily into guard. Moribunda gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Moribunda shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Austria napping and manages to drive through into side control! Austria can't do much from the bottom here. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Austria sneaks back into half guard. Moribunda is controlling the pace.
Austria is not content to let Moribunda control the position. Moribunda controlling the action here. Austria keeps control of the position for the meantime.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Moribunda wants to take a breather but Austria is having none of it. Austria actively working from the bottom here. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Moribunda seems to be working for a kimura but Austria defends the submission attempt.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Moribunda throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Austria makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Austria misses with a takedown attempt and Moribunda counters with a nice low kick that buckles Austria's knee momentarily. Moribunda shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Austria napping and manages to drive through into side control! Moribunda decides to take the fight back to the feet. Moribunda slaps away a takedown attempt from Austria, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Austria doesn't succeed with the takedown so Moribunda counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Alex Moribunda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeje Austria. Moribunda looking to sit in guard and control but Austria gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Austria has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Moribunda is proving hard to escape from. Moribunda wants to stand and escape but Austria is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Austria trying to stand up but can't free himself from Moribunda's guard. Austria trying to control but Moribunda is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alex Moribunda dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Moribunda looking to sit in guard and control but Austria gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Austria drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Moribunda manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Austria has Moribunda in his guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Moribunda looking to pass the guard.

Moribunda working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Austria wants to get back to his feet but Moribunda is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Moribunda gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Moribunda scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Moribunda working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Austria tries to buck Moribunda off but Moribunda is having none of it. Moribunda misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Moribunda cracks Austria with a big right hand but Austria just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Austria is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Moribunda has just dragged him back down to the mat. Austria prevents Moribunda from improving position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. A looping hook to the body misses from Moribunda. Austria does a little dance to reset his feet. No luck with that takedown attempt from Moribunda. The crowd cheers as Austria lands an impressive looking overhand right. Moribunda doesn't seem phased though. Austria shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Moribunda defends it nicely. Moribunda drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Austria keeping his opponent close.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Austria is not content to let Moribunda control the position. Austria struggling a bit here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Austria is trying to work for a sweep but Moribunda has mounted him! Jeje Austria has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Alex Moribunda is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Austria throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
And that's the end of the fight! Alex Moribunda showed his dominance in that final round. Well Moribunda has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
