Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mr Guy! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Flo Henoi! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Henoi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Henoi is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Guy knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Henoi wants to take a breather but Guy manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Henoi. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Henoi wants to control from the top but Guy keeps moving. Henoi preventing the sweep. Henoi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Guy swivels though and keeps the full guard. Henoi drops back looking for a leg! Guy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Guy manages to kick Henoi off! Henoi jumps back into Guy's guard. Guy tries to land a sweep but no joy. Henoi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Guy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Guy misses with the combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. Henoi fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Guy gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Henoi to score an easy takedown into full guard. Guy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Henoi pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Guy is keeping the position for now. Guy is trying to keep Henoi in close.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Henoi tries to free his leg and advance position but Guy is retaining full guard. Henoi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Guy has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Henoi should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Guy has tightened it up now! Henoi should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Mr Guy! Mr Guy is the new welterweight champion!
