The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knox throws out a powerful jab.
Knox's corner calls for a 1-2. Knox obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Kefentse tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Knox paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Knox throws a right and a left that Kefentse avoids nicely.
Kefentse walks into a jab.

Kefentse closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kefentse lands in his opponent's guard.
Knox wants to sweep here but Kefentse controlling him for the moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Knox can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kefentse drops back looking for a leg! Knox is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Knox manages to kick Kefentse off! Kefentse jumps back into Knox's guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Knox throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kefentse.
Kefentse takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Knox, as that shot connected.
Kefentse tries to score a power double leg takedown but Knox sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kefentse somewhat.
Kefentse shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

A left and a right from Knox both land. Nice combination.
Kefentse takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Knox stuffs the takedown attempt from Kefentse. Kefentse gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joost Kefentse. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Knox keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Knox drops Kefentse with a beautiful combination! Kefentse stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Knox is looking for the KO!

Knox dances in with a quick combination. Kefentse is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Knox snaps Kefentse's head back. Kefentse stumbles backwards against the cage. Knox steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Kefentse's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Kefentse just didn't come prepared.
