Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jenji Ueda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sham Wow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ueda's entrance music is Requiem for a Dream. A fine choice. Jenji Ueda could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Sham Wow's chin.

5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sham Wow! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ueda throws out a loose jab but Wow uses good head movement to avoid it. Ueda has taken the fight to the clinch.
Wow lands with a light punch inside. Ueda connects with a nasty looking knee right to Wow's face.
Ueda prevents the takedown attempt.
Wow digs a right hand into Ueda's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Ueda's gas tank. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Ueda as Wow tries to tie him up. Ueda lands a damaging elbow.
It looks like Sham Wow has been cut. Wow takes an elbow to the temple. Wow avoiding damage as Ueda throws knees to the body.
Both guys are working to get underhooks. Ueda putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Wow in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Ueda manages to pull guard. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Ueda drives through with a takedown into guard. Ueda throwing strikes from guard but Wow blocks nicely. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Wow tries to land a sweep but no joy. Wow seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Wow not landing any meaningful shots this time. Wow misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Ueda avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Wow. Nice strikes from Wow there. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Wow in particular looking to stall. Wow thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Wow looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Wow prevents Ueda from improving his position.
That's six minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Wow winds up and cracks Ueda with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Wow controlling the pace. Wow is looking to take a break and control but Ueda is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ueda pushes Wow off looking to stand but Wow dives back in and keeps control.

Wow looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ueda with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Wow trying to control from half guard but Ueda is working away. Ueda blocking the ground and pound attempt from Wow. Wow is taking a breather. Ueda says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Wow might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ueda kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Wow throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ueda was covering up waiting for the punch and Wow finishes the takedown easily into guard. Wow throws and elbow that misses. Ueda uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wow's guard. Nice move by Ueda!

Ueda trying to control but Wow is working from the bottom. Wow is pulling down on Ueda's head. It's preventing any offense from Ueda, at least for the moment. Ueda stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wow swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
