PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck McBuck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manny Cedor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cedor has chosen Carl Orff's O Fortuna as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chuck McBuck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Manny Cedor!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Fujiwara and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McBuck blocks a jab.
The fight stays on the outside here - Cedor looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Cedor tries to clinch up.
McBuck swats away the attempt to clinch by Cedor.
Cedor lands a really nice looking cross but McBuck seems unphased.


It looks like Chuck McBuck has been cut.
McBuck connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Cedor tries to bum rush McBuck with a series of wild strikes but McBuck uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
McBuck moves out of range as Cedor strikes.
Cedor ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McBuck moves away.

McBuck feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
McBuck postures up in Cedor's guard and throws a big left but Cedor blocks it.
Cedor is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
McBuck is looking to control Cedor's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can McBuck avoid being mounted?

McBuck is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Cedor tries to stand and escape but McBuck is controlling the position.
Cedor slows the pace down in half guard.
Cedor wants to stand but his hand is trapped. McBuck uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Cedor looking to sit in guard and control but McBuck gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
McBuck looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
McBuck has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Cedor lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for McBuck!

McBuck swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Cedor.


It looks like Manny Cedor has been cut.
A punch lands to the side of McBuck 's head but he takes it in his stride.
McBuck moves out of range of the strikes.
McBuck doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Cedor avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
McBuck takes a head kick and keeps coming.
McBuck shoots in but Cedor avoids the takedown attempt easily.

McBuck decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McBuck seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cedor does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

McBuck throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Cedor sees it coming and avoids it easily.

McBuck shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cedor but Cedor pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chuck McBuck. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cedor lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as McBuck backs up against the ropes.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cedor is looking to clinch but McBuck is avoiding it.

That was a close second round but I would say that Chuck McBuck will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

McBuck closes the distance and clinches up with Cedor, looking for a takedown. McBuck pushes Cedor against the ropes but Cedor circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Whack! Cedor lands a heavy head kick that drops McBuck. The ref tackles Cedor to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because McBuck was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Manny Cedor!
