Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Martin Chua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JD Kom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martin Chua could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to JD Kom's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chua tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kom paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Kom looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Chua!

Kom swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Chua is now in Kom's guard. A big mistake from Kom there, giving up the dominant position!

Kom got a little sloppy there for a moment and Chua has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kom has managed to get both his arms back between Chua's legs - danger averted.

Kom drops back, looking for a kneebar! Chua looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Chua looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Chua!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chua lands a decent elbow from side control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kom manages to work his way to half guard, despite Chua's best efforts.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Horrible takedown by Kom or perhaps it was just good defense by Chua which made him look bad.
Kom shoots for a takedown but Chua saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Chua closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Chua lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Kom is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Chua is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

That was a close second round but I would say that Martin Chua will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Chua doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Kom counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Kom is thwarting Chua's attempts to control the position.
Chua is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kom's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kom's back!
Chua is not going to allow Kom to sit and survive in this position.
Even with his hooks in, Chua manages to miss with strikes from the back.

Kom breaks Chua's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Kom postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Chua is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kom, into his guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Chua distracts Kom with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Kom is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kom is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Kom has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Kom jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Chua is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Chua and Kom has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
