The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliveira wants to land a leg kick but Jones is out of range.
Oliveira throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Oliveira moves in looking to clinch but Jones pushes him off.
Jones ducks under a wild hook from Oliveira.

Oliveira looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Jones shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Oliveira napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Jones closes the distance and pushes Oliveira back into the cage.
Jones goes for a takedown in the clinch but Oliveira prevents it.
Oliveira lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Jones.
Jones is trying to drag Oliveira to the mat but Oliveira just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jones closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Oliveira tries to bench press Jones off him but Jones keeps the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oliveira takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Oliveira looks to score with a jab to the body but Jones is just out of range.
Jones throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Jones shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jones showed some decent athleticism there.

Jones stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Oliveira to get to his feet.

Jones has taken the fight to the clinch.

Jones tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Oliveira is trying to reverse the position but instead Jones has taken his back - oops!
Jones has the hooks in. Oliveira is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Jones has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Oliveira! Can he survive? No! He's out! Jones gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
