PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Max Stax (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Murder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stax comes into the arena with Breaking Benjamin 'I Will Not Bow' blaring out of the sound system. Frank Murder has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Max Stax's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Max Stax!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Murder!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Lou da Vinci and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stax missing with a left hand there. Murder was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Stax connects with a crisp jab.
Nice shot by Stax.
Murder misses with a few strikes there.
Stax misses with a hook.
Murder misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Murder has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Stax finds it's way round the side to connect with Murder's head.
Murder throws a series of punches but Stax moves out of range.
Murder tries to score with a low kick but Stax moves his leg out of the way.
Murder uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stax.
Murder throws a body kick that misses.
Stax swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Murder keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Stax.
Murder scores with a one two! Stax had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Stax clobbers Murder with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Murder lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Murder lands with a nice combination. Stax backs away looking to recover.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oh Stax is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Some wild striking there from Murder.
Murder fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Stax.
Stax seems to have got his legs back now.

Murder tries to clinch there but Stax circles away.
Stax throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Stax misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Murder.
Stax thows a body shot but no joy.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Murder. Stax shrugs it off though.

Stax throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Stax throws a body punch but Murder moves out of range.

Murder closes the distance and clinches.
Stax throws a knee to the head but misses.
Stax misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Murder goes for a takedown in the clinch but Stax prevents it.

Murder wants to break the clinch but can't.

Murder's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Murder misses with a wild combination.
Horrible takedown by Murder or perhaps it was just good defense by Stax which made him look bad.
Max Stax has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Murder.

Stax looks to score with a jab to the body but Murder is just out of range.

Murder misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Stax is looking to wear down Murder with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Murder shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A looping hook to the body misses from Stax. Murder does a little dance to reset his feet.

Stax gets caught flat footed, as Murder shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Stax on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Stax tries to get out of the position.
Stax is breathing heavily.
Murder working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Stax's head.

Stax will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Murder is trying to control. Stax wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Murder shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Stax but Stax pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Frank Murder dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Stax swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Murder.
A left and a right from Stax both land. Nice combination.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Murder drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Murder jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Stax knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Murder on the ground.

Frank Murder showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
