Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Louis Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xavier Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evans kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Panasonic Youth by The Dillinger Escape Plan. Xavier Hernandez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Louis Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Xavier Hernandez!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Jorge Garcia and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hernandez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Xavier Hernandez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Evans connects with a body shot.
Hernandez should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Hernandez fails with a takedown attempt.
Hernandez shoots in for a takedown but Evans shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Hernandez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Louis Evans has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Xavier Hernandez.
Evans throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Hernandez on the side of the head.

Hernandez looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Evans has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hernandez is working away from the top position though.

Hernandez is looking for a kimura but Evans is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hernandez to get the leverage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Evans is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hernandez pulls his head out easily.
Evans trying to hold on to Hernandez's head to control him but Hernandez postures up.
Evans is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Evans knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hernandez on the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Evans is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hernandez lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Hernandez is keen to just control but Evans is a slippery customer.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A shot to de liver by Evans. Beautiful body shot.
Hernandez fails with the takedown.
Hernandez gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Evans.
Hernandez misses with a takedown attempt - Evans sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Evans lands a jab to the nose.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Evans lands with a big left! Hernandez is wobbled badly! Evans comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Hernandez to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Louis Evans!
