Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Borracha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Broady Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Armstrong has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paulo Borracha! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Broady Armstrong! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Armstrong. No joy for Borracha on that attempt. Armstrong leaves Borracha with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Armstrong fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Paulo Borracha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Borracha avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Borracha will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paulo Borracha. That's going to take a lot out of him. Borracha tries to close the distance and clinch but Armstrong swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Borracha wants to clinch and Armstrong counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Armstrong. Armstrong looks gassed! Borracha controls Armstrong momentarily but Armstrong frees himself. Borracha wants to sweep but no luck. Armstrong wants to stand but Borracha is controlling his posture from full guard. Borracha has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Armstrong can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Borracha looking for a sweep. Not yet Borracha, not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Borracha is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Borracha is looking to stand up but Armstrong isn't so interested in that idea.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Armstrong swats away the attempt to clinch by Borracha. Armstrong shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Borracha but Borracha pushes him off and we're back to square one. No joy there for Armstrong, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Borracha closes the distance looking to clinch and Armstrong counters with a two punch combo.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Borracha shoots in but no luck this time. Borracha has his takedown stuffed and Armstrong counters with a three punch combo that has Borracha backing up. Borracha nods at Armstrong to acknowledge the strikes. Borracha dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Borracha tries to clinch but Armstrong is having none of it. Armstrong avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Borracha stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Borracha lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Armstrong circles away from the clinch attempt.
Borracha fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Armstrong sprawls well initially but Borracha persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Armstrong manages to escape and get back to his feet! Borracha connects with a body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Borracha tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Armstrong paws at him with a jab and circles away. Borracha wants to clinch. Jab, jab by Borracha - just one landing. Armstrong takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Borracha is trying hard to land a takedown here. Armstrong sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Armstrong steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Borracha. The fight stays on the outside here - Borracha looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Borracha takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Borracha closes the distance and clinches up with Armstrong, looking for a takedown. Borracha pushes Armstrong against the cage but Armstrong circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Borracha wants to clinch. Armstrong gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Borracha prevents Armstrong from breaking the clinch. Nice body punch from Borracha - that landed with a thud.
Borracha lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Armstrong backwards. Borracha connects with a nasty looking knee right to Armstrong's face.
Armstrong tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Good body shot from Borracha.
A short left from Borracha. Armstrong tries to break the clinch but Borracha is controlling the position. Borracha is trying to stall.
Borracha lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Armstrong backwards. Armstrong breaks the clinch.
Borracha is trying hard to land a takedown here. Armstrong sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. A head kick by Borracha misses and Armstrong counters with a shoot takedown. Borracha fights it but they end up in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Broady Armstrong dominated that round. The cut man is working on Broady Armstrong's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Borracha tries for a takedown but Armstrong circles away easily letting Armstrong counter with a right hand. Borracha doesn't succeed with the takedown and Armstrong counters by moving into the clinch. Armstrong wants to break free but Borracha has control.
Armstrong's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Borracha bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Armstrong's head. Borracha moves in looking to clinch but Armstrong pushes him off. Borracha tries to clinch there but Armstrong circles away.
Borracha shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Armstrong as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paulo Borracha. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Borracha clinches up against the cage. Borracha decides to pull guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Borracha has a closed guard, preventing Armstrong from standing up. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
That's one minute gone in the round. Borracha is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Armstrong won't allow Borracha to get back to his feet. Armstrong gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Armstrong drives through and clinches with Borracha against the cage.

Borracha goes for a takedown attempt but Armstrong pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Borracha tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Borracha goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Armstrong moves into the clinch successfully.
Borracha is working Armstrong over against the cage. Borracha wants to stall.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Armstrong's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Borracha changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Armstrong tries to avoid it but Borracha manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Armstrong to the ground. Armstrong escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Borracha looks to clinch and Armstrong counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Armstrong. Armstrong tries to throw a body punch but Borracha avoids it by throwing Armstrong back against the cage. Borracha jumps into guard, dragging Armstrong to the mat.
Borracha wants to stand and escape but Armstrong is having none of it. Armstrong stands up and waves to Borracha to follow him. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Armstrong checks a leg kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Armstrong throws a combination that misses and Borracha connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Borracha tries to clinch but fails miserably and Armstrong counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Armstrong decides to stand up. Borracha gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Borracha tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Armstrong paws at him with a jab and circles away. Armstrong stuffs the takedown attempt from Borracha. Borracha gets slowly back to his feet. Borracha doesn't succeed with the takedown so Armstrong counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Armstrong gets to his feet. Borracha looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice uppercut lands for Borracha. That snapped Armstrong's head back.

Borracha keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Armstrong's efforts to push away. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Armstrong has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Borracha avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Borracha breaks the clinch.
Armstrong circles away from the clinch attempt.
A head kick from Armstrong lands but Borracha takes it in his stride. Borracha has his takedown stuffed and Armstrong counters with a nice double leg into side control. Borracha won't be happy with that. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Armstrong decides to stand back up. The fight stays on the outside here - Borracha looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Armstrong throws a wild combination but nothing lands. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Broady Armstrong showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Broady Armstrong's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Broady Armstrong has got the better of the ground game so far. Armstrong decides to return to a standing position. Borracha tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Armstrong swivels and escapes. Armstrong throws a right hand that Borracha ducks under and follows up with a left that Borracha also avoids with ease. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Borracha tries to clinch up. Borracha tries to close the distance and clinch up but Armstrong swats him away and circles back towards the center.
That's one minute gone in the round. Armstrong circles away from the clinch attempt and Armstrong counters with a left to the body. Borracha wants to clinch up but Armstrong keeps it at a distance. Armstrong takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Borracha is defended easily by Armstrong. Armstrong lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Borracha circles away quickly and effectively. Paulo Borracha is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Borracha shoots for a takedown but Armstrong saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paulo Borracha. That's going to take a lot out of him. Armstrong throws a right and a left that Borracha avoids nicely. Borracha tries for a takedown but Armstrong circles away easily and Armstrong counters with a left and a right that stings Borracha.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Borracha tries to close the distance and clinch but Armstrong swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Armstrong keeps the fight on the outside. Borracha fails in his attempt to clinch. Borracha moves into the clinch successfully.

Armstrong working hard to break the clinch. Borracha crunches a lovely knee into Armstrong's ribcage. Borracha pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Borracha tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Armstrong counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Borracha! Borracha is trying desperately to improve position. Borracha knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Armstrong on the ground. Armstrong wants to control the pace but Borracha is squirming around nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Borracha tries to hold on but Armstrong pushes him away. Armstrong stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Armstrong throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Borracha's head. Borracha shoots and misses and Armstrong counters by moving into the clinch. Borracha lands a right hand that snaps the head of Armstrong backwards. Borracha misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Armstrong.
Armstrong tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Armstrong breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Borracha doesn't succeed with the takedown and Armstrong decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Borracha's guard. Borracha is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Borracha looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Armstrong decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Borracha, up you get! Armstrong throws a one two combo.
Borracha wants to clinch but Armstrong slips to the side and Armstrong counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Armstrong. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Armstrong decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Armstrong looks to land a combination but Borracha avoids it well. Excellent takedown into side control there by Armstrong. Borracha is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Armstrong off and has taken his back! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Borracha is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Armstrong up.
Paulo Borracha has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Broady Armstrong is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Armstrong has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Borracha doesn't have the hooks in and Armstrong manages to turn into his guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Broady Armstrong comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Armstrong has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
