Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mateus Valenzuela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ed Motta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mateus Valenzuela! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ed Motta! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Emerson Jorge and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Valenzuela blocks a jab. Motta works the jab nicely. Valenzuela throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Valenzuela looks to land a right hand but Motta moved out of range. Valenzuela takes one to the chin there. Motta lands a really nice looking cross but Valenzuela seems unphased.
Valenzuela takes a body punch but keeps moving. Motta throws a jab but it's blocked by Valenzuela. Motta looks to land a right hand but Valenzuela moved out of range. A telegraphed right hand from Valenzuela misses the target. Valenzuela moves away from the strike by Motta. A combination from Valenzuela does no damage. Valenzuela lands a jab. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Valenzuela misses the shot to the body. Motta takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Motta takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Motta misses with a looping left. Valenzuela moves out of range of the strikes. Motta lunges at Valenzuela with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Valenzuela's hand. Valenzuela slips under a jab. Valenzuela thows a left - swing and a miss! Valenzuela walks into a jab. Valenzuela uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Motta. Valenzuela shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Motta scores with a sloppy right hand. Valenzuela should have avoided that one.
That's one minute gone in the round. Motta swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Valenzuela. Motta throws a jab but it's blocked by Valenzuela. Motta jabs at Valenzuela's body. Motta throws a hook to the side of Valenzuela's head but Valenzuela sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Motta scores with a decent looking hook. Valenzuela takes a body punch but keeps moving. Motta lunges at Valenzuela with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Valenzuela's hand. A left lands for Motta. The fighters circling - Motta throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Motta works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Motta uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Valenzuela. Motta cracks Valenzuela with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Ed Motta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Motta showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Valenzuela.
Motta dips to his left and cracks Valenzuela with an uppercut! Valenzuela bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Motta fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Valenzuela is breathing heavily. A combination from Valenzuela does no damage. Motta misses with a straight left. Valenzuela throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Motta bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Valenzuela takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Valenzuela comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Valenzuela moves away from the strike by Motta.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Valenzuela looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Motta throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Motta scores with a jab to the jaw. Motta misses with a straight left. Valenzuela moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Motta lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Motta takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Valenzuela is rocked! Motta drops Valenzuela with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Valenzuela! Motta dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (strikes). Ed Motta! Ed Motta is the new heavyweight champion!
