Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chris Lappin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gwyn Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gwyn Jones is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Gwyn Jones!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Steven Brown and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lappin is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jones's half guard.
Jones keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Well, if Lappin is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Lappin tries to clinch up but Jones circles away and keeps his distance.

Jones turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Jones manages to end up in side control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Jones stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jones wants it to stay on the feet.

Lappin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lappin somewhat.

Jones fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lappin sprawls well initially but Jones persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Jones seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Lappin has one foot on Jones's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Lappin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jones's waist but Jones gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lappin off to one side.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Jones.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lappin swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Lappin jumps guard but Jones stands there with Lappin around his waist. Lappin gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Jones gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Lappin.

Lappin will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.

Gwyn Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
