Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Roy Kostinov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicolas Ring (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nicolas Ring has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Roy Kostinov's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roy Kostinov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nicolas Ring! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kostinov is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ring sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Kostinov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ring as he jumps to the side. Ring fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kostinov sprawls well initially but Ring persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Ring throwing shots but Kostinov is blocking nicely. Kostinov wants to control but Ring is keeping busy and won't allow it. Ring wants to stand up but Kostinov is controlling the position.
Still in half guard, Ring seems content to control. Kostinov wants to control but Ring is keeping busy.
Kostinov is looking to improve his position.
Kostinov has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ring is working away from the top position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ring stands up and beckons Kostinov to join him on the feet. Kostinov really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Kostinov looks to land a body kick but Ring moved away. Ring drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ring looks gassed! Kostinov tries to buck Ring off but Ring is having none of it. Ring avoids the strikes from the bottom by Kostinov. Ring working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Kostinov wants to control but Ring postures up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kostinov is trying to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kostinov is trying to work for a sweep but Ring has mounted him! Kostinov tries to hold on but Ring postures up. Ring controlling from mount. Kostinov manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Kostinov, under a barage of strikes from Ring.

Kostinov tries to get to full guard but Ring has control of the leg. Ring trying to pass the guard but Kostinov defending well.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Ring looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kostinov! Kostinov is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Kostinov keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ring sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Ring prevents Kostinov from getting the reversal. Kostinov is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Ring wants to control the pace but Kostinov is squirming around nicely. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kostinov tries to hold on but Ring pushes him away. Ring swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Kostinov is now in Ring's guard. A big mistake from Ring there, giving up the dominant position! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nicolas Ring dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Ring misses with a takedown attempt and Kostinov counters with a right hand to the body. Kostinov works over Ring's head and body with a nice combination. Ring steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Kostinov. That one must have hurt. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Kostinov. Ring shrugs it off though. Kostinov lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kostinov fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Ring throws a lazy head kick and Kostinov counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kostinov. Kostinov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Kostinov will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Kostinov is looking to work some ground and pound but Ring has wrist control. Kostinov wants to stand but Ring has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Kostinov wants to control from the top but Ring keeps moving. Ring is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ring wants to stand and escape but Kostinov is having none of it. Kostinov wants to pass the guard but Ring is keeping the position. Kostinov trying to control but Ring is working from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Kostinov scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Kostinov tries to score with some ground and pound. Ring controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Kostinov is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Ring will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kostinov is looking to take a break and control but Ring is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ring can do anything to dispel that myth. Ring tries to escape but Kostinov is in control. Kostinov is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ring knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Kostinov is looking to take a break and control but Ring is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kostinov thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Ring is not content to let Kostinov control the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Ring tries to clinch up but Kostinov circles away and keeps his distance. Ring shoots for a takedown but Kostinov saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Ring gets caught flat footed, as Kostinov shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ring trying to keep a closed guard but Kostinov is proving a slippery customer.
Kostinov trying to control but Ring is working from the bottom. Kostinov landing with the ground and pound. Ring avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Ring keeping moving, preventing Kostinov from controlling successfully. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kostinov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ring is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roy Kostinov dominated that second round. That's time! Kostinov's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Kostinov throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ring is looking to clinch. Kostinov fails with the takedown and Ring counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kostinov won't be happy with that. Kostinov is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Ring off and has taken his back! Kostinov misses with an elbow to the head. Kostinov thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. Ring prevents Kostinov from getting a body triangle. Kostinov has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Kostinov trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kostinov is persistently looking for the submission but Ring is defending it well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kostinov working for a choke but Ring is defending well. Kostinov is working the ground and pound. Can Ring escape? Ring wants to escape the position.
Kostinov gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes. Kostinov is looking to control Ring but Ring is wriggling around and keeping busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ring can't escape the position.
Ring is taking damage to the body and head. Kostinov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kostinov throwing sloppy strikes. Kostinov has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Ring defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Kostinov's arms. Kostinov tries to get the hooks in deep but Ring pushed the leg off.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ring trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Kostinov missing with strikes. Kostinov tries to keep control of the position but Ring is staying busy. Ring trying to control the hands but Kostinov won't let him. Ring defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Roy Kostinov. Well Kostinov has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
