Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Garcias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gusto Frias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Thiago Cunha and Edson Gomes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frias waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Garcias.
Garcias shoots for a takedown but Frias saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Some wild striking there from Frias.
Garcias fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Garcias moves out of range as Frias strikes.
Frias throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Garcias drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Garcias is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Frias has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Frias manages to get to his feet, escaping the difficult position.

Frias fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Garcias circles away from the clinch attempt.
Garcias with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Frias to score with a decent uppercut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Garcias shoots in for a takedown but Frias shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The fighters circling - Frias throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Frias throws a shot from downtown. Garcias moves away and avoids it.
Frias tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Garcias paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Garcias is looking to clinch but Frias is avoiding it.
Frias dips to his left and cracks Garcias with an uppercut!

Nice combo by Frias! Oh, that's hurt him - Garcias falls to the canvas and Frias follows him into side control.

Oh Garcias is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Frias with the ground and pound but Garcias regains half guard under the barage of strikes.

Frias looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Garcias with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Garcias seems to have got his legs back now.
Garcias is pressing down on Frias's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Frias throws a strike but Garcias rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Garcias passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Frias misses with a strike from the bottom.
Frias tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Frias is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Garcias asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Frias is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Garcias is looking to take a break and control but Frias is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Frias wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Frias tries to buck Garcias off but Garcias is having none of it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Garcias has a takedown stuffed.
Garcias displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Frias throws out the jab.

Frias throws out a loose jab but Garcias uses good head movement to avoid it.

Frias uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Frias tries to clinch but Garcias is having none of it.
Oh Garcias is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Garcias moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Garcias seems to have got his legs back now.
Nice takedown defense from Frias. No joy for Garcias on that attempt.

Frias wants to try and get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Garcias is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Frias is surviving well by controlling Garcias's body position as best he can.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Frias can do anything to dispel that myth.
Frias tries to improve his position but instead Garcias has taken his back!

Frias won't enjoy being in this position. Garcias looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Frias is tapping - it's over boys! Garcias picks up the submission victory!
