The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garris stuffs the takedown attempt from House. House gets slowly back to his feet.

and House counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
House tries to stand and escape but Garris is controlling the position.

House is looking for a kimura here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

House is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Garris wants to control but House is keeping busy.

House is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Garris is just riding it out for now. House eventually gives up the hold.

House goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Garris has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for House but great work by Garris.

Garris has hold of House's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and House manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Garris throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
House paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

House drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Garris dives on top into guard.

Garris tries to free his leg and advance position but House is retaining full guard.

House has his foot on Garris's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Garris works his way back into a safe position though.

Garris must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Garris stands and steps away. House gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

House changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Garris tries to avoid it but House manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Garris to the ground. Garris escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Garris bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
House is trying to improve his position.
House wants to get back to his feet.
House trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Garris is looking to take a break and control but House is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Rex Garris has got the better of the ground game so far.

Garris wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by House, who protects the arm well.
House is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Garris asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Garris goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, House has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Garris but great work by House.

Rex Garris showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Garris decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Garris drops his hands momentarily and House takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Rex Garris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Garris tries to bum rush House with a series of wild strikes but House uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

House bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

House goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Garris rolls with the submission and now he's on top in House's guard! Nice work there by Garris!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dan House showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Garris has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
