Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Baron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Montana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Montana's choice of entrance music: Rasmus- No fear. Joey Montana acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Baron! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joey Montana! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Dean Styles and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Montana closes the distance and lands a one-two. Montana shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Baron's guard. Baron looking for a sweep. Not yet Baron, not yet. Montana pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Baron is keeping the position for now. Baron wants to get back to his feet but Montana is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Montana has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Baron is proving hard to escape from. Baron escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Montana gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Montana is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Montana would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baron doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Baron can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Montana controls the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Montana trying to control but Baron is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Montana is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Montana must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Montana preventing the sweep. Baron keeping moving, preventing Montana from controlling successfully. Montana gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Montana tries to clinch there but Baron circles away.
Nice takedown defense from Baron. No joy for Montana on that attempt. Montana looks gassed! Montana fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Montana displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Baron. Montana tries for a takedown but Baron circles away easily and Baron counters with a two punch combo. Montana cracks Baron with a good jab. Montana gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Baron counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Montana! Mike Baron has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joey Montana. A nice elbow there by Baron. Baron tries to control but Montana wriggling away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Montana really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Baron tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Baron with good strikes from the mount here! A nice elbow there by Baron. Montana keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Baron can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Montana is looking to escape. The referee warns Montana that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Montana in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Baron with a couple of short strikes. Baron with good strikes from the mount here! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mike Baron will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Baron closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Montana is trying to escape the position but Baron is controlling the position. Montana takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Baron working the head with strikes. Montana tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Baron wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Baron looks up at the clock and then as Montana takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Baron smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Baron is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Montana is trying to escape and Baron transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Montana is forced to tap! Nice work there by Baron! Very nice indeed!
