Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gunner Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pravoslav Rusic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pravoslav Rusic acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gunner Armstrong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pravoslav Rusic! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Valeri Chadov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rusic shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Armstrong as he jumps to the side. Rusic scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Rusic is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Armstrong is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Rusic working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Rusic thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. That's one minute gone in the round. Rusic is trying to get an arm triangle but Armstrong is defending well. Armstrong knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rusic on the ground. Rusic looks gassed! Rusic tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rusic has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Armstrong is looking for a sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Armstrong manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Armstrong tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Rusic. Rusic wants to control but Armstrong is keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rusic looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Armstrong trying to mount his opponent but Rusic defends it.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Armstrong moves into range and clinches up with Rusic.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Armstrong's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Armstrong throws a series of punches but Rusic avoids them all with ease. Gunner Armstrong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rusic shoots in for a takedown but Armstrong shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Rusic shoots in but no luck this time. Gunner Armstrong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pravoslav Rusic. Rusic has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Rusic shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Armstrong sprawls well. Armstrong wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rusic gets slowly back to his feet. Rusic shoots in for a takedown but Armstrong shows good takedown defense.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Armstrong throws a right hand that Rusic ducks under and follows up with a left that Rusic also avoids with ease. Rusic fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Armstrong sprawls well initially but Rusic persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Armstrong is trying to control but can't.
Rusic is working for an americana but Armstrong has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Rusic was thinking about the submission. Armstrong wants to get back to his feet but Rusic is in a dominant position and won't allow it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pravoslav Rusic dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Armstrong lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Armstrong prevents the takedown attempt.
Rusic tries to circle away but Armstrong has him pinned against the cage. Armstrong pulls guard effortlessly. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rusic has gone for a leg lock! Armstrong slips out almost immediately though and dives into Rusic's guard. Rusic not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rusic is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rusic looking for a guillotine here but Armstrong defends easily.
Rusic wants to sweep but no luck. Armstrong postures up.
Rusic is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Armstrong is aware though and is defending well. Armstrong is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Armstrong avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Armstrong tries to stand but Rusic is controlling from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Armstrong showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Armstrong is posturing up here but Rusic has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Armstrong tries to roll out but it's too tight and Armstrong has to tap! Slick submission there by Rusic!
