The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomes Silva fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gomes Silva defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Boombats.
Gomes Silva fails to land with a series of punches.
Boombats shoots in and bounces Gomes Silva off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Boombats tries to free his leg and advance position but Gomes Silva is retaining full guard.
Gomes Silva is looking to sinch up a triangle. Boombats throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Gomes Silva's body to avoid the submission. Gomes Silva has instead reached around Boombats's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Gomes Silva arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
