Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Taj Mahal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ikaika Kalani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kalani has chosen E ala E as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mahal, as that shot connected.
Kalani shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mahal defends it nicely. Kalani slips a straight right by Mahal. Mahal throws a push kick but Kalani slaps the foot to one side. Mahal throws a series of punches but Kalani avoids them all with ease. Kalani throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mahal. Mahal throws a series of punches but Kalani moves out of range. Mahal is keeping the position for now. Mahal might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Kalani passes Mahal's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mahal is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kalani's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kalani's back! Kalani is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Kalani breaks Mahal's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Mahal has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kalani can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Mahal working a defensive guard here.
Mahal can't keep his opponent in guard - Kalani advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Mahal is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Mahal moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Taj Mahal will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Mahal looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Mahal swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A punch combination from Mahal misses. Mahal looks to land a left hand but Kalani moved out of range nicely. Mahal lands with a good body shot. No luck for Kalani with that takedown attempt. A chopping leg kick lands by Mahal. Mahal lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Mahal throws a shot from downtown. Kalani moves away and avoids it. Kalani takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Mahal swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Kalani. A nice combination there by Mahal.

Mahal throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Taj Mahal is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mahal stuffs the takedown. Taj Mahal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ikaika Kalani. Mahal dips to his left and cracks Kalani with an uppercut! Mahal throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Mahal is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Kalani takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. The fighters circle momentarily. Mahal darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Mahal lands with a nice combination. Kalani backs away looking to recover. Mahal throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Mahal scores with a body shot.
Kalani fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Mahal looks to land a combination but Kalani avoids it well. Kalani takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mahal throws a combination that misses and Kalani counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Mahal! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mahal sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Mahal looking for submissions off his back. Mahal slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Mahal looking for a triangle here. Kalani is fighting it but it looks tight! Mahal pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Kalani is tapping out - this one is all over!
