Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chuck Faraday! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Don Handle! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Handle fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Faraday lands the left hand. Handle is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Handle takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Handle looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Faraday is fending him off so far but Handle persists. Nope, Faraday circles away and we're back to standing. Faraday lands with an overhand left. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Faraday wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Faraday throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Faraday goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Good standup being displayed there by Faraday as he connects with a hook. Donk. Faraday catches Handle right on the button with a cross. Faraday steps into range and cracks Handle with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Handle flops backwards and Faraday dives into his guard looking to finish!
Handle is rocked! Handle managing to control the position. Faraday pushes down on Handle's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Handle is pressing down on Faraday's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Handle can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Faraday controls the pace. Faraday wants to pass the guard but Handle is keeping the position. Faraday is looking to work some ground and pound but Handle has wrist control. Faraday stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Handle swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Handle looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Handle lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Faraday! Faraday wants to control but Handle is having none of it. Handle throwing strikes but Faraday recovers to half guard. A much better position. Handle is stalling here. Faraday is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Handle seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Faraday has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Handle is looking to regain half guard here but Faraday keeps moving and retains side control. Faraday throws a strike aimed at the side of Handle's head but Handle avoids it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Faraday tries to move into full mount but can't pass Handle's legs. Handle is looking to regain half guard here but Faraday keeps moving and retains side control. Handle seems a little lost for a moment, as Faraday dominates the positioning. Faraday wants to stand but Handle is controlling his arm. Handle is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Faraday lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. A lazy left from Faraday finds it's target.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Handle walks into a straight right hand from Faraday. Faraday takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Faraday works over Handle's head and body with a nice combination. Handle looks gassed! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Faraday's corner calls for a 1-2. Faraday obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Handle fails in his attempt to clinch. Handle fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Faraday avoids it really well and circles away. Chuck Faraday has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Don Handle. Handle takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Faraday closes the distance and pushes Handle back into the cage. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Handle being controlled against the cage. Handle jumps guard but Faraday stands there with Handle around his waist. Handle gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chuck Faraday dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Faraday closes the distance and clinches. Faraday just leaning against Handle, taking a breather. Handle is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Faraday leaning against his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Handle breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Faraday throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Handle. Faraday misses with a wild combination.

Handle on the wrong end of a nice jab. Faraday cracks Handle with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Chuck Faraday seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Faraday avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

He's pushed Handle's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Handle misses with a takedown attempt - Faraday sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Faraday with a jab. Faraday's corner calls for a 1-2. Handle is breathing heavily. Handle takes a body punch but keeps moving. Faraday moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jab from Faraday. Faraday scores with a hook. Chuck Faraday is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Faraday rushes Handle with punches - Handle moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Handle goes down! Faraday follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
