The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Edwards looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Silva throws a sloppy head kick and Edwards moves out of range easily.
Silva wants to clinch up but Edwards keeps it at a distance.

Edwards shoots in for a double leg but Silva sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Silva takes the fight into the clinch.

Edwards shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Silva manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Edwards throws and elbow that misses. Silva uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Edwards's guard. Nice move by Silva!

Silva gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Edwards tries to score a power double leg takedown but Silva sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Edwards somewhat.
Wanderlei Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Edwards.

Silva gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Edwards to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Edwards has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Silva is proving hard to escape from.

Edwards must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Silva is looking to sinch up a triangle. Edwards throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Silva's body to avoid the submission. Silva has instead reached around Edwards's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Silva arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
