Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, jake Tyler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, steven maxwell!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tyler shoots in looking for a takedown. maxwell tries to sprawl out of it but Tyler keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. maxwell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Tyler fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Horrible takedown by Tyler or perhaps it was just good defense by maxwell which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for jake Tyler. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tyler closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tyler lands in his opponent's guard.
Tyler wants to pass the guard but maxwell is keeping the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tyler pulls maxwell in to control the position.
maxwell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Tyler looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Tyler might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Tyler utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Tyler has his foot on maxwell's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. maxwell works his way back into a safe position though.
maxwell is sitting in close to Tyler's body. Tyler has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! maxwell is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, maxwell is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Tyler.
