Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Demian Gaea (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sandro Stojakovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice leg kick lands there from Stojakovic.
Stojakovic fails with a takedown attempt.
Gaea could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Stojakovic throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gaea's waist but Gaea gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stojakovic off to one side.
Stojakovic fails with the takedown.
Demian Gaea has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sandro Stojakovic.
Gaea avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gaea doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Stojakovic counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Stojakovic.

Stojakovic really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gaea. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gaea is looking to control Stojakovic's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gaea avoid being mounted?

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Gaea makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gaea.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Stojakovic might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gaea kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Gaea has his foot on Stojakovic's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stojakovic works his way back into a safe position though.
Gaea might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Gaea is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Stojakovic has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Gaea has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Stojakovic taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Gaea doesn't care though - he's delighted!
