Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Connor Jackson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Evan Crosby! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crosby looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Crosby wants to clinch. Crosby tries to clinch up. Crosby shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Crosby drops back looking for a leg! Jackson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jackson manages to kick Crosby off! Crosby jumps back into Jackson's guard. Jackson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Crosby is one step ahead there. Jackson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Crosby can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Jackson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Crosby trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jackson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Crosby's guard. Jackson postures up in Crosby's guard and throws a big left but Crosby blocks it. Crosby looking for a guillotine here but Jackson defends easily.
Crosby had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Jackson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Crosby Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Jackson's back instead. Crosby is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Jackson is defending well though. Crosby let's go of the attempt for now. Crosby looks gassed! Crosby is not going to allow Jackson to sit and survive in this position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Crosby looking for the RNC.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson breaks Crosby's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Jackson wants to control from the top but Crosby keeps moving. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jackson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Jackson forces his way into half guard. Jackson is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Crosby has managed to free his arm - good work. Crosby moves into full guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Crosby is looking for a triangle but Jackson pushes his legs off easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Crosby is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Crosby looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crosby trying to keep a closed guard but Jackson is proving a slippery customer.
Crosby keeping full guard, as Jackson tries to pass. Crosby wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Jackson is now in half guard. Jackson lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Crosby! More strikes land and this one is all over! Jackson jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Connor Jackson! Connor Jackson retains his lightweight title!
