Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Flynn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Flynn might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Bad Ass by Mickey Finn & Aphrodite. Cote has chosen Drake-City Is Mine as his entrance music. Mickey Flynn has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mickey Flynn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Frank Cote!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flynn stuffs the takedown attempt from Cote. Cote gets slowly back to his feet.
Flynn scores with a one two! Cote had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Cote shoots in for a takedown but Flynn shows good takedown defense.
Flynn throws a sloppy head kick and Cote moves out of range easily.
A punch combination from Flynn misses.
Flynn misses with a double jab.

Flynn fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cote sprawls well initially but Flynn persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Cote is defending against the submission attempts here by Flynn.

Flynn is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Cote defends it well.
Flynn prevents Cote from improving his position.
Flynn wants to control but Cote is keeping him busy.
Flynn content to control rather than advance.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Flynn throws a solid leg kick but Cote takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Flynn.

Cote throws a right hand that Flynn ducks under and follows up with a left that Flynn also avoids with ease.
Flynn lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Flynn throws a one two combo.
Flynn throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Flynn throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Cote counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Flynn!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
BOOM! Cote connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Flynn keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Cote trying to control but Flynn is having none of it.
Flynn is looking to improve his position but Cote isn't that keen on the idea.
Flynn wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Flynn is trying to get back to his feet but Cote has full control of the position and if anything, Flynn has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Flynn is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Flynn rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Cote prevents Flynn from standing back up.
Cote is looking to take a break and control but Flynn is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Flynn is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cote's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cote's back!

Cote working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Flynn's head.

Cote drops back looking for a leg! Flynn is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Flynn manages to kick Cote off! Cote jumps back into Flynn's guard.
Cote wants to control from the top but Flynn keeps moving.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cote chips away with some ground and pound.
Flynn has Cote pulled in close to control his posture.
Cote with a flurry of punches that miss.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mickey Flynn dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Cote feints and then cracks Flynn's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Flynn down.
Flynn throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Flynn counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Cote wants the takedown. Flynn is fighting it off but Cote persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Flynn's guard against the cage.
Flynn lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Cote!

Cote is looking to control Flynn's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cote avoid being mounted?

Flynn stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Mickey Flynn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Flynn has his foot on Cote's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cote works his way back into a safe position though.

Cote sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Flynn's guard.

Flynn has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cote is working away from the top position though.

Cote changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Flynn looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Flynn tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Nice combo by Flynn! Oh, that's hurt him - Cote falls to the canvas and Flynn follows him into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Flynn takes a little break here. Cote wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Flynn is looking to take a break and control but Cote is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Flynn is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cote is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Cote throws Flynn to one side and escapes!

Flynn gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Flynn jumps guard but Cote stands there with Flynn around his waist. Flynn gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Cote changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Flynn fights it off and pushes away nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Frank Cote showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Horrible takedown by Cote or perhaps it was just good defense by Flynn which made him look bad.
Cote takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Cote had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Flynn is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Cote Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Flynn's back instead.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Cote is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Flynn. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.

I really don't envy Flynn right now.
Flynn rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Flynn is staying active underneath Cote, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Cote throws a strike but Flynn rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

and Cote counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Flynn's guard now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
