Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between alkie de vera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Roberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). de vera comes to the cage accompanied by know your enemy. Jim Roberts looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

de vera moves into the clinch successfully.
Roberts looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

de vera is looking for a triangle but Roberts pushes his legs off easily.
de vera really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

de vera has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Roberts can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Roberts wants to stand but de vera has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

de vera is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

de vera has Roberts pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. de vera pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Roberts tumbling to the mat - de vera dives into Roberts's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Roberts tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. de vera smiles and moves away.

de vera looks to land a combination. Roberts sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

de vera sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Roberts to the ground! de vera dives into full mount looking to finish!

Roberts defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from de vera.
Roberts tries to lock up and control but de vera gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
de vera takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Roberts chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before de vera can pounce on him.

Roberts wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by de vera, who protects the arm well.
de vera is trying to control Roberts's posture but Roberts avoids it.
