Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bo Sanchez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Corey Washington! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Steve Montenegro and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Washington has a takedown stuffed. Washington dives in and grabs Sanchez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sanchez pushes down on Washington's head and hops out. Sanchez misses with a takedown and Washington counters with a solid body kick. Sanchez gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Washington finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Sanchez is breathing heavily. Sanchez takes a shot right to the bread basket. This has been an exciting period of action! Washington lands with a nice body punch. Washington darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Washington slows the pace down in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Washington is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sanchez has managed to free his arm - good work. Washington wants to pass the guard but Sanchez is defending well. Washington trying to control from half guard but Sanchez is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Washington trying to mount his opponent but Sanchez defends it. Washington is taking a breather. Sanchez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Washington prevents Sanchez from improving his position. Sanchez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sanchez tries to get out of the position. Well, if Washington is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sanchez wants to get back to his feet.
Washington is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Washington wants to stand but Sanchez has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Washington not landing any meaningful shots this time. Sanchez trying to control from the bottom.
Washington is trying to control the action in half guard but Sanchez is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Washington scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Corey Washington dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Washington closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Washington lands in his opponent's guard. Sanchez tries to land a sweep but no joy. Washington not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Sanchez looking for a sweep. Not yet Sanchez, not yet. Washington wants to control from the top but Sanchez keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Washington with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Washington looking to pass the guard. Washington advances to half guard. Washington is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sanchez has his takedown stuffed and Washington counters with a crisp one two that drops Sanchez! Washington thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Sanchez to his feet! Sanchez is in big trouble! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A jab from Washington finds it's way through Sanchez's defenses. Washington scores with a punch to the head. Washington catches Sanchez with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Sanchez is rocked! Washington lands a hook that stumbles Sanchez back into the cage. Washington follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Sanchez to the canvas! Washington pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Sanchez has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
