Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rick Flare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gavriil Endymion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flare comes into the arena with Also Sprach Zarathustra blaring out of the sound system. Endymion has chosen The Message as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rick Flare! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gavriil Endymion! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Endymion fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Endymion shoots in for a takedown but Flare shows good takedown defense. Flare slips a straight right by Endymion. Flare moves out of range of the strikes. Flare is trying hard to land a takedown here. Endymion sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Endymion fails in his attempt to clinch. Flare dodges the punch combination from Endymion.

Endymion lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Flare! Flare is working to get back to half guard.
Endymion jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Flare manages to avoid the submission attempt. Flare tries to improve position but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Flare is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Endymion's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Flare is looking for a sweep. Endymion is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Endymion is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Endymion is looking for a kimura but Flare is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Endymion to get the leverage.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Endymion misses with an uppercut. Flare saw that one coming. Flare tries to score a power double leg takedown but Endymion sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Flare somewhat. Flare ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Endymion moves away. Flare throws a left and a right that both miss
and Endymion counters with a nice uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Flare throws a series of punches but Endymion avoids them all with ease. Endymion looks to land a right hand but Flare moved out of range. Flare ducks under a wild hook from Endymion. Flare fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rick Flare. That's going to take a lot out of him. Endymion misses with an uppercut. Flare saw that one coming. Flare shoots for a double leg takedown but Endymion sprawls well. He's pushed Flare's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A big left from Flare misses. Endymion throws a lazy right hand but Flare sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Flare changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Endymion tries to avoid it but Flare manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Endymion to the ground. Endymion escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Flare is breathing heavily. Flare looks to land a left hand but Endymion moved out of range nicely. Flare fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Flare shoots for a double leg takedown but Endymion sprawls well. He's pushed Flare's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Endymion slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Endymion falls off balance throwing a combination
and Flare counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Endymion!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Endymion is trying desperately to improve position. Endymion is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Flare wants to control the action but instead Endymion gets a body lock and reverses into Flare's guard! Nice work! Flare is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Endymion is aware though and is defending well. Endymion thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Endymion slips nicely into half guard. Endymion is looking to stall here but Flare recovers full guard. Endymion wants to control from the top but Flare keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Endymion wants to stand and escape but instead Flare has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Endymion preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Endymion is trying to keep Flare in close.
Flare looking to pass the guard. Flare throwing strikes from guard but Endymion blocks nicely. Endymion tries to land a sweep but no joy. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Flare misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Endymion.
Endymion uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Flare. Endymion looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Flare shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Endymion cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gavriil Endymion dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Endymion lands a really nice looking cross but Flare seems unphased.
Endymion scores with a takedown into Flare's guard. Flare has his foot on Endymion's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Endymion works his way back into a safe position though. Flare working for a triangle but Endymion defends it easily.
Endymion is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Endymion won't allow Flare to sweep him here. Endymion wants to control from the top but Flare keeps moving. Endymion loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Flare is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Endymion has his hands clasped together but Flare extends an breaks Endymion's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Flare.
