Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joe Kill! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vlad Lepdev! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Ivan Kurochkin and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lepdev misses with a two punch combination.
Lepdev lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kill circles away quickly and effectively. Lepdev connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
It looks like Joe Kill has been cut. Lepdev misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lepdev jabbing away but nothing is landing. Lepdev throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kill feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Kill gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kill ducks under a wild hook from Lepdev. Kill scores with a body shot.
Kill closes the distance and pushes Lepdev back into the cage. Lepdev wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Lepdev tries to break free but Kill pushes him back against the cage. Lepdev is trying to break the clinch but Kill is controlling him. Lepdev pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kill moves out of range of the strikes. Lepdev scores with a nice right hand.
Lepdev throws a hook but Kill avoids it easily. Lepdev looks gassed! Kill scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
It looks like Vlad Lepdev has been cut. Kill shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lepdev napping and manages to drive through into side control! Kill has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Vlad Lepdev is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lepdev tests Kill's chin there with a solid looking shot. Kill shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kill was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Kill landing shots from mount. Kill is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Lepdev to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Lepdev shrugs it off. Lepdev is bucking up trying to escape but Kill cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Kill raining down shots from the mount! A nice elbow there by Kill.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kill lands a big elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lepdev throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Lepdev squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Kill trying to control but he's not successful this time. Lepdev tries to buck Kill off but he can't manage it. Lepdev takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kill lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Lepdev hang on? Kill controlling the pace for now. Kill breaks from Lepdev's wrist control and lands an elbow. Kill looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Lepdev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kill. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kill landing strikes from the mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lepdev is trying to stand. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Kill dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Kill looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Kill is looking to work some ground and pound but Lepdev has wrist control. Kill gets to his feet. Lepdev looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Lepdev leaves Kill with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Lepdev lands a really nice looking cross but Kill seems unphased.
Lepdev throws a jab but it's blocked by Kill. Lepdev lands an overhand right. Kill staying out of range there. Kill staying out of range there. Kill closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kill lands in his opponent's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lepdev keeping moving, preventing Kill from controlling successfully. Joe Kill overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kill stands up and waves to Lepdev to follow him. Nice straight punches there by Lepdev. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Lepdev. Lepdev misses the jab. Kill has taken the fight to the clinch.

Kill tries to score a body lock takedown but Lepdev shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Lepdev escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Lepdev looks to land a left hand but Kill moved out of range nicely. Kill moves out of range as Lepdev strikes. Kill instigates a clinch. Lepdev wants to break the clinch but can't.
Kill is trying to drag Lepdev to the mat but Lepdev just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Kill jumps guard but Lepdev stands there with Kill around his waist. Kill gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Lepdev misses with a looping left. Lepdev misses with a few strikes there.
Kill ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Kill lands a jab-cross combination. Lepdev throws a big shot that misses. Lepdev is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kill. Kill avoids the body shot from Lepdev.
Lepdev wants to clinch but Kill slips to the side and Kill counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Lepdev! Kill working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Lepdev is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kill scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Lepdev?
Lepdev is looking to improve his position but Kill isn't that keen on the idea. Kill has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kill won't let Lepdev get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Lepdev is trying to escape the mount.
Lepdev is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kill sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kill is in the full mount, landing strikes. Kill working for a submission but Lepdev is keeping him at bay. Kill avoids the attempt from Lepdev to control. Lepdev is trying to stand up. Kill lands a big shot there that rocks Lepdev but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lepdev is desperately trying to improve his position but Kill has a good base and remains in mount. Kill lands a heavy elbow. Kill connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Kill is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Lepdev is surviving well by controlling Kill's body position as best he can. Lepdev wants to control but Kill is having none of it. Lepdev is desperately trying to improve his position but Kill has a good base and remains in mount. Vlad Lepdev has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Kill looking to control but Lepdev is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Lepdev is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kill working Lepdev over with strikes here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lepdev is looking to get to half guard. Kill is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Lepdev can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
And that's the end of the fight! Joe Kill showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kill, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
