Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sazh Blaskey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miyamoto Usagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sazh Blaskey has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Sazh Blaskey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Miyamoto Usagi!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jorge Garcia and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Usagi fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Blaskey throws out a loose jab but Usagi uses good head movement to avoid it.
Usagi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Blaskey throws out the jab.

Usagi shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Blaskey napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Usagi wants to control but Blaskey is keeping him busy.

Usagi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Blaskey is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Usagi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Usagi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
I wouldn't like to be where Blaskey is right now.
Usagi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blaskey keeps working.

Blaskey wants to control but Usagi postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Usagi goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Blaskey has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Usagi but great work by Blaskey.

Blaskey creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Usagi sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
You can see the frustration on Usagi's face as Blaskey controls the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Blaskey tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Blaskey has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Sazh Blaskey just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Usagi misses with a takedown attempt - Blaskey sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Sazh Blaskey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Miyamoto Usagi.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Usagi moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.


It looks like Miyamoto Usagi has been cut.
Usagi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Blaskey avoids it really well and circles away.

Blaskey sends Usagi crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Blaskey is motioning to the referee to let Usagi up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Usagi takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Blaskey is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Usagi.
Usagi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Blaskey tries to avoid it but Usagi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Blaskey to the ground. Blaskey escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

A telegraphed right hand from Blaskey misses the target.
Usagi closes the distance and clinches up with Blaskey, looking for a takedown. Usagi pushes Blaskey against the cage but Blaskey circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Blaskey displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Usagi.

Usagi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Blaskey tries to avoid it but Usagi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Blaskey to the ground. Blaskey escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Blaskey fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Usagi looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Usagi closes this distance looking for a takedown but Blaskey circles away.

Blaskey tries to bum rush Usagi with a series of wild strikes but Usagi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Usagi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Blaskey but Blaskey pushes him off and we're back to square one.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Well Blaskey has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
