The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schwartz shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Schwartz showed some decent athleticism there. Schwartz is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Schwartz seems to be working for a kimura but Dante defends the submission attempt. Dante is trying to get back to full guard. Schwartz is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dante is just riding it out for now. Schwartz eventually gives up the hold. Dante Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Schwartz's back instead. Schwartz trying to control but not successfully. But no, Schwartz has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
