Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Gio Naza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jeorge Johanson! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Ackerman and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Naza slips under a jab. Naza closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Naza is looking to take a break and control but Johanson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Naza taking a breather here. Naza throwing strikes but Johanson manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! That's one minute gone in the round. Naza stops Johanson from passing to mount. Naza is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Naza takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice defenses there by Naza. Johanson leaves Naza with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Johanson lands with a cross. Johanson waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Naza. Jeorge Johanson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Naza slips under a jab from Johanson. Naza misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Naza darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Naza not landing any meaningful shots this time. Johanson on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Naza passes the guard and advances to mount! Johanson wants to control but Naza is having none of it. Naza putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Naza lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Gio Naza dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Johanson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Naza moves away. Johanson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Naza stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Nice body punch from Johanson. Johanson throws a jab but it's blocked by Naza. Johanson misses with a straight right. Johanson leaves Naza with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Johanson throws a hook but Naza blocks it. Jeorge Johanson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johanson throws a jab but it's blocked by Naza. Johanson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Naza shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Johanson sprawls well. Johanson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Naza gets slowly back to his feet. Naza tries for a takedown but Johanson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gio Naza. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Naza misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Johanson.
Johanson misses with an uppercut. Naza saw that one coming. Naza scores a takedown into full mount! Naza throws some wild stikes that Johanson manages to avoid easily.
Naza tries to control but Johanson wriggling away. Naza thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Johanson is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Naza pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Naza lands a big elbow. Naza putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Naza lands a big elbow. Naza throws some wild stikes that Johanson manages to avoid easily.
Naza throwing strikes but Johanson recovers to half guard. A much better position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Johanson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Naza lands a couple of elbows.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Naza working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Naza working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Johanson's head. Naza looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Naza trying to control but Johanson is working from the bottom. Naza scoring with some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Naza is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Johanson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Naza throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Johanson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Johanson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Naza throws a strike but Johanson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Johanson won't allow Naza to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gio Naza dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
A big right from Johanson misses. Johanson throws a looping overhand right but Naza ducks down to avoid it. Johanson loads up on a big right hand but Naza slips the punch. Naza closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Gio Naza overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Johanson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Naza thows a huge punch but Johanson dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Naza trying to control the action but Johanson is working from the bottom. Naza working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Johanson's thigh. Johanson counters though and makes it back to full guard. Johanson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Naza looking to sit in guard and control but Johanson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Johanson is stalling in the full guard. Naza wants to stand but Johanson is controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Naza keeping moving, preventing Johanson from controlling successfully. Naza wants to stand but Johanson is controlling the position. Jeorge Johanson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johanson sitting in guard here, content to control. Gio Naza is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Naza is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Johanson stands and throws Naza's legs to the side, diving into side control.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gio Naza. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Naza, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
