Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Howard Beale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Earp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beale comes to the cage accompanied by Mad As Hell. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Howard Beale!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Earp!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beale tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Earp swivels and escapes.

Earp closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Beale to the mat! Beale manages to get full guard.
Earp won't allow Beale to sweep him here.
Beale bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Earp's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Earp is on top in guard.

Beale looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Earp throwing strikes from guard but Beale blocks nicely.
Earp pushing down on Beale's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Earp connects with a nice short shot to Beale's temple.

Earp is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Earp connects with a nice short shot to Beale's temple.

Oh Beale is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Earp working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Beale is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Earp drops an elbow to the side of Beale's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Earp looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Beale with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Beale is trying to control but can't.
Beale is breathing heavily.

Earp is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Nice strikes from Earp there.
Earp lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Earp is controlling the pace.
Beale tries to get to full guard but Earp has control of the leg.
Beale seems to have got his legs back now.

Beale wants to improve his position but Earp is controlling well.
Earp uses his free foot to push down on Beale's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Beale.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Beale is in a horrible position here. Earp smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Earp lands a big elbow.

Earp fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Beale is desperately trying to improve his position but Earp has a good base and remains in mount.

Earp has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Beale tries to lock up and control but Earp gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The referee warns Beale that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Earp landing strikes from the mount and Beale is in trouble!
Beale is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Earp lands a big elbow.
Earp lands a big shot there that rocks Beale but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Earp scoring with strikes but Beale is staying in there.
BOOM! Earp connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Beale is working to get back to half guard.
Beale manages to regain half guard. Good work.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Earp lands a nice short elbow.
Beale tries to roll over but Earp keeps him under control.
Beale is in trouble now - Earp has advanced to mount!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Earp cracks Beale with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Beale bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Beale advances to half guard.

Beale is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Beale scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Beale frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Beale is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Earp prevents Beale from taking his back.

Beale is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Earp is surviving well by controlling Beale's body position as best he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dave Earp dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Beale misses with a takedown attempt

and Earp counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Beale!
A nice elbow there by Earp.
Dave Earp has got the better of the ground game so far.
Beale sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Earp winds up and cracks Beale with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Earp postures up and Beale puts all his force into a big punch from the bottom. It lands right on the button and stuns Earp! Beale bucks him off and unloads with a more strikes from mount - Earp is done and he's forced to tap! Wow, you don't see a knockout off your back every day... or ever really, for that matter!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Howard Beale!
