Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between fred bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Byford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). bob comes to the cage accompanied by Sublime - Santeria. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, fred bob! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Byford! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Glass and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Byford throws an uppercut from half a mile away. bob sees it coming and avoids it easily. Byford shoots in but no luck this time. A telegraphed takedown attempt from bob is defended easily by Byford. bob with a lazy takedown attempt enabling Byford to counter with a crisp jab. Some wild striking there from Byford.
Byford throws a leg kick that misses. bob fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for fred bob. That's going to take a lot out of him. bob shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. bob showed some decent athleticism there. Byford is not content to let bob control the position. Byford wants to get back to full guard. bob seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

That's one minute gone in the round. bob is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Byford is just riding it out for now. bob eventually gives up the hold. Byford is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. bob lands strikes from half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Byford wants to control but bob is keeping busy and won't allow it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Nice cross by Byford. Byford has his takedown stuffed and bob counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by bob. bob preventing the sweep. Byford looks gassed! There's a bit of a scramble here and now Byford is on top in guard.
Byford lands a couple of decent looking shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. bob is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Byford pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. bob is keeping the position for now. bob lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Byford! Byford working to try and regain half guard.

bob has hold of Byford's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Byford manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Byford wants to control but bob is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. bob trying to control but he's not successful this time. Byford tries to hold on but bob pushes him away. Byford is trying to escape the mount.
bob controlling from the full mount. bob wants to control the pace but Byford is squirming around nicely. bob jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Byford manages to avoid the submission attempt. bob is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Byford has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. bob misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Byford tries to improve position but can't. bob looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Byford manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. bob seems to be working for a kimura but Byford defends the submission attempt. bob is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Byford misses with a few strikes there.
Byford fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
bob could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Byford doesn't succeed with the takedown and bob counters with a nice double leg into guard. bob trying to control the position from guard on top but Byford is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. bob postures up and lands a big shot to Byford's brow. bob decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Byford, up you get! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Byford shoots and misses and bob counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. bob throwing strikes from guard but Byford blocks nicely. bob chips away with some ground and pound. bob might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Byford is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. bob trying to control but Byford is working from the bottom. fred bob overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Byford trying to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Byford wants to sweep here but bob controlling him for the moment.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. A telegraphed takedown attempt from bob is defended easily by Byford. bob fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Byford avoids it really well and circles away. bob takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. bob shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Byford napping and manages to drive through into side control! bob wants to lay and pray for a moment but Byford keeps working. Byford really doesn't want to stay on the ground with bob. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. bob decides to stand up, so the ref orders Byford to his feet. bob blocks a jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. bob scores with a takedown into Byford's guard. bob throws and elbow that misses. Byford uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in bob's guard. Nice move by Byford! bob working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Byford doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Byford manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Byford throwing strikes from guard but bob blocks nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. bob lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Byford!
That's four minutes gone in the round. bob prevents Byford from getting the reversal. Byford is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. bob working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Byford looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by bob! Submission of the night perhaps?
