Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Psycho Shaman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bako King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bako King will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Psycho Shaman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bako King!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shaman takes the fight into the clinch.
King stalling in the clinch but Shaman improves position.
Shaman pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Shaman just misses with a elbow thrown towards King's brow.
King dodges an elbow strike from Shaman.
Shaman throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

King breaks from the clinch.
Shaman jabs at King's body.
King keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Shaman.
Shaman fails in his attempt to clinch.
Nice jab there from King.
Shaman tries to clinch there but King circles away.
Shaman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Shaman scores with a shot to the body.
King is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
King avoids the body shot from Shaman.
Shaman misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from King.
Shaman throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

King avoids the head kick by Shaman.
Shaman will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
King looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and King counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Shaman with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
King looks gassed!

King circles away from the clinch attempt
and King counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
King avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
King slips a jab and a cross from Shaman.
King scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
King fails with an attempt to clinch.
King looks to throw the jab but Shaman is out of range.
King loads up on a big right hand but Shaman slips the punch.
King lands with a hook. Shaman tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Psycho Shaman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Shaman misses with a kick to the body.
King stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
King swinging wildly here.
Shaman takes a swing at King's ribcage but misses.
King is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
King circles away from the clinch attempt

and King holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Shaman lands an elbow that stopped King in his tracks for a moment.
Knees in the clinch landing for Shaman.
King blocks an elbow strike.
Shaman with a knee to the head.
Shaman misses with an elbow over the top.
Shaman creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Shaman tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and King avoids it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Shaman on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Psycho Shaman dominated that round.
That's time! Shaman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Shaman throws a jab when King was well out of range.
Shaman wants to clinch but King slips to the side
letting King counter with a right hand.
Psycho Shaman is winning the standup battle so far.
King lands a nice shot to the body.

King closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Shaman is not content to let King control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
King tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Shaman is looking to control King's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Shaman avoid being mounted?

King sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Shaman wants to control but King is keeping busy and won't allow it.
King trying to control from half guard but Shaman is working away.
Well, if King is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Shaman gets full guard.

Shaman wants to sweep but no luck.
Shaman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Shaman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but King does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Shaman wants to control but King is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bako King showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


King tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Shaman swivels and escapes.
Shaman misses the body punch
and King counters with a stiff right hand.
Psycho Shaman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
King wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Shaman throws a sloppy head kick and King moves out of range easily.
Shaman misses the shot to the body.
Shaman darts in trying to clinch
and King counters with a straight right hand.
King listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
King might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
King lands with a right hand.
King steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Shaman.

King changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Shaman closes the distance looking to clinch
and King counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

King blocks a head kick by Shaman.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts King, as that shot connected.
King fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nice shot lands for King.

Shaman tries to land a front kick but King steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Shaman misses with a shot to the body

and King counters by moving into the clinch.
A short uppercut from King.
King lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Shaman backwards.
Shaman throws an elbow but it misses.
With the fighters up against the cage, Shaman throws an elbow but misses.
King pushes Shaman back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Shaman.
Shaman has King pressed against the cage, preventing King from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
King blocks the elbow strike.
Shaman tries to land a knee to the head but King blocks with his arms.
A short right from King on the inside.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Shaman tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

King's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

King decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
King performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Shaman trying to get back to full guard but King takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
King throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Shaman takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
King content just to control the position here.
King wants to control the pace but Shaman is squirming around nicely.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
King thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

Shaman tries to reverse the position but King maintains control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bako King comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think King has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
