PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gary Don Oscar Arum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Psytrox Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marshall has chosen Eye of the tiger as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gary Don Oscar Arum!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Psytrox Marshall!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arum fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Arum is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Marshall.


It looks like Gary Don Oscar Arum has been cut.

Marshall gets a takedown into half guard.
Arum is staying active underneath Marshall, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Arum wants to get back to full guard.

Marshall seems to be looking for submissions.

Marshall is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Arum doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Marshall.

Marshall is working for a submission of some sort.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Arum moves into full guard.
Arum pulls Marshall in close to his closed guard and prevents Marshall from doing any damage or advancing position.
Arum is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Marshall is controlling him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Marshall looking to sit in guard and control but Arum gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Arum connects with a couple of short punches.
Arum makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Arum has gone for a leg lock! Marshall slips out almost immediately though and dives into Arum's guard.
Arum working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Marshall.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Arum manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Arum trying to control but Marshall is having none of it.
Arum landing strikes, looking to finish!
A nice elbow there by Arum.
Arum lands a nice shot to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Arum postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Marshall looks a forlorn figure.
Arum pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Arum is breathing heavily.
Arum landing punches.
Marshall really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Arum. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Marshall tries to reverse the position but Arum maintains control.
Arum has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Marshall's face.
Arum raining down shots from the mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Arum dominating with strikes here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Arum working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Marshall turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Arum off and cradles Marshall's limp body as Arum celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Gary Don Oscar Arum!
