Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jose Pinto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Jovanovski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jovanovski has chosen Anastasija - Pass Over as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Pinto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Jovanovski! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jovanovski moves into the clinch. Jovanovski lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Jovanovski is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Pinto tries for a takedown but Jovanovski manages to get underhooks.
Jovanovski has clasped his hands together around Pinto's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Jovanovski wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pinto, who protects the arm well. Pinto wants to control but Jovanovski postures up. Jovanovski looks up at the clock and then as Pinto takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jovanovski smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Pinto tries to bench press Jovanovski off him but Jovanovski keeps the position. Jovanovski working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pinto takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Jovanovski is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pinto knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jovanovski works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Pinto takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Jovanovski happy to just control the position for now. Pinto tries to buck Jovanovski off but Jovanovski is having none of it. Jovanovski scoring with punches from side control. Jovanovski lands a decent elbow from side control. Pinto is looking for a sweep. Pinto takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Jovanovski lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. You can see the frustration on Pinto's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Jovanovski lands an elbow. Pinto is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jovanovski working the body and head with strikes.
Pinto is rocked! Jovanovski working the ground and pound. Oh Pinto is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Jovanovski cracks Pinto with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Jovanovski immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Pinto is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Jovanovski!
