Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh Nomaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josh Nomaker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Diego Diaz! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nomaker fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nomaker looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Diaz keeps the fight on the outside. Nomaker is looking to clinch but Diaz is avoiding it.
Nomaker tries to close the distance and clinch but Diaz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Nomaker closes the distance and clinches. Diaz tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Nomaker just stands there and leans against the cage. Nomaker lands a right hand. Diaz blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Nomaker misses with the head strike.
Diaz is trying to force a seperation but Nomaker has the dominant position. Diaz wants to break the clinch but can't.
Diaz tries to pull guard but Nomaker holds him up against the cage and eventually Diaz drops back down to his feet.

Josh Nomaker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Diego Diaz. Nomaker misses with a punch on the inside.
Nomaker misses with a hook from the clinch. Nomaker could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Diaz tries to pull guard but Nomaker won't allow it.

Diaz tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Diaz pulls guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Diaz wants to stand up but Nomaker is controlling him. Diaz trying to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nomaker throws a strike but Diaz rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Diaz drops back looking for a leg! Nomaker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nomaker manages to kick Diaz off! Diaz jumps back into Nomaker's guard. Diaz drops back looking for a leg! Nomaker is in trouble here! Diaz trying to control but Nomaker is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Diaz controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Diaz trying to control but Nomaker is working from the bottom. Nomaker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Diaz on the ground. Nomaker working a defensive guard here.
Diaz passes Nomaker's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Diaz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nomaker keeps working. Diaz decides to return to a standing position. Diaz shoots in and bounces Nomaker off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nomaker wants to get back to his feet but Diaz is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Diaz is pushing down on Nomaker's leg trying to pass to half guard. Nomaker is fighting to maintain full guard but Diaz has managed to sneak the leg through. Diaz keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Diaz is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Nomaker is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
