Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Yuri Ka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anthony Burgess! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ka uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Burgess. Ka takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Burgess ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ka moves away. Ka avoids a punch combination nicely.
Burgess thows a body shot but no joy. Burgess scores with a nice head shot. Ka moves away from the strike by Burgess. Nice body kick from Ka. Burgess takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Burgess takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Ka uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Burgess has time to react. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ka displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Burgess throws out the jab. Ka thuds his right hand into Burgess's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Ka scores with a crisp jab that stopped Burgess in his tracks. A slow jab from Ka misses its intended target. Ka ducks under a wild hook from Burgess. Ka defending well as Burgess loads up on a big left hand. Ka misses with a looping left.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burgess on the wrong end of a nice hook. Burgess cracks Ka with a good jab. Ka looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Ka clobbers Burgess with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Burgess gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ka to score an easy takedown into full guard. Ka looking to pass the guard. Burgess is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Burgess can do anything to dispel that myth. Burgess is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Ka passes Burgess's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Ka controlling the pace. Burgess is not content to let Ka control the position. Burgess trying to hold on to Ka's head to control him but Ka postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Ka looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Burgess is trying to get back to full guard. Burgess is trying to stand.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Burgess is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Ka is taking a breather. Burgess says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Burgess is trying to maintain the position but Ka is very close to passing his half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ka controlling the action here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ka throws a leg kick which misses Burgess's front leg but catches the back leg as Burgess tries to avoid it. Burgess takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Ka throws a lazy right hand but Burgess sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Burgess missing with a left hand there. Ka was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Anthony Burgess seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Burgess looks to throw the jab but Ka is out of range. Ka throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Burgess misses with a looping left. Burgess throws a sloppy body shot
and Ka counters with an inside leg kick. Ka throws out a loose jab but Burgess uses good head movement to avoid it. Decent striking displayed by Burgess there. Burgess steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ka. Burgess misses with a hook. Burgess misses with an uppercut. Ka throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Burgess stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Ka uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Burgess.

Nice straight punches there by Ka. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Ka. The fighters circling - Burgess throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Yuri Ka is winning the standup battle so far. Burgess throws a nice looking combination but Ka bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Burgess needs to keep his hands up - Ka had a free shot at his head there. Anthony Burgess is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Horrible takedown by Ka or perhaps it was just good defense by Burgess which made him look bad. Ka throws a big shot that misses. Burgess throws a leg kick and Ka connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Ka misses with a low kick. Ka misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. It looks like Yuri Ka has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ka takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Ka throws a quick inside leg kick. Ka cracks the inside of Burgess's front leg. Burgess lands a right hook to the body.
Ka throws a head kick that misses. Burgess fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ka looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Ka throws a leg kick which misses Burgess's front leg but catches the back leg as Burgess tries to avoid it. Burgess ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Burgess moves into range and connects with a jab.

Ka feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Burgess's calf. Ka comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. A chopping leg kick lands by Ka. Burgess connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ka momentarily.

Ka displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Burgess throws out the jab. Ka connects with a right hand. Burgess shakes it off. Ka pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Burgess works Ka's body with a nice hook. Burgess throws a low kick but it's checked well by Ka. Burgess throws a leg kick and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. A jab from Burgess misses. Ka slips a straight right by Burgess. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ka keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Ka looks to land a left hand but Burgess moved out of range nicely. Ka lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Burgess avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Burgess scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Burgess looks to throw the jab but Ka is out of range. A shot to de liver by Burgess. Beautiful body shot. Burgess lands with a cross. Ka walks into a left hand. Ka tries to score a power double leg takedown but Burgess sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ka somewhat. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Nice jab there from Burgess. Ka takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Ka smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Burgess stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Ka. Nice defenses there by Ka. Burgess's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Burgess misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ka.

and Ka counters with a solid body kick. Burgess does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Burgess paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Burgess misses with a series of wild punches.
Ka is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Burgess. Burgess swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ka finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Burgess throws a series of strikes that have Ka backpedaling.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Burgess will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Burgess crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Ka - the referee stops the clock and Burgess gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Ka. Burgess manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Anthony Burgess has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Burgess looks to score with a jab to the body but Ka is just out of range. Ka looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. A low kick from Burgess is predictable there and Burgess takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Nice uppercut there from Ka. Burgess throws a left and a right that both miss
and Ka counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Burgess! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Burgess is just holding on here. Ka manages to take his back.

That's four minutes gone in the round. What can Burgess do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Ka is trying to stick to Burgess's back but Burgess is turning into Ka. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Ka's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Burgess. Ka manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Burgess manages to get himself to full guard.
Ka wants to control from the top but Burgess keeps moving. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Burgess is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
And that's the end of the fight! Yuri Ka showed his dominance in that final round. Well Ka has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
