The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takeshi lands a left and a right that send Ocha crashing to the mat, dazed. Takeshi thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Ocha misses with a takedown attempt - Takeshi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ocha fails with a takedown attempt.
Ocha stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ocha wants it to stay on the feet.
Ocha shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Takeshi is trying to defend but Ocha finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Ocha is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Ocha is trying to stick to Takeshi's back but Takeshi is turning into Ocha. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Ocha's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Takeshi.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ocha is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Takeshi keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Ocha works his foot free and advances to mount.
