Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Briagga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rorion Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rorion Gracie! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Matheus Silva and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Briagga is looking to chop away at Gracie's legs. Briagga misses with a series of wild punches.
Briagga throws a nice looking combination but Gracie bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Briagga gets the takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Briagga is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Briagga really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Briagga looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Briagga wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Gracie is desperately trying to improve his position but Briagga has a good base and remains in mount. Gracie tries to hold on but Briagga postures up. Gracie looks gassed! Briagga takes Gracie's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Gracie is in trouble. A lull in the action here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie is having to fend off submission attempts from Briagga, who is looking to sink in the choke. Briagga doesn't have the hooks in though and Gracie manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard. Briagga throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Briagga has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gracie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Briagga is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Briagga working for a triangle but Gracie defends it easily.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Briagga keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Briagga wants to sweep here but Gracie controlling him for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Briagga looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gracie slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Gracie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Briagga is keeping the position for now. Briagga working for a triangle but Gracie defends it easily.
Gracie showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Briagga working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gracie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gracie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Briagga holds on and takes a little breather. Briagga controls Gracie momentarily but Gracie frees himself. Briagga pushes Gracie off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Briagga cracks Gracie with a good jab. Good leg kick by Briagga there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Briagga drives through with a takedown into guard. Briagga won't allow Gracie to sweep him here. Gracie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Briagga manages to get himself to full guard.

Briagga is looking for a triangle but Gracie pushes his legs off easily.
Briagga had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Gracie is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Briagga Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Gracie's back instead. Gracie is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Briagga is persistently looking for the submission but Gracie is defending it well.
Briagga patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Briagga looking for the RNC. Briagga tries to get the hooks in deep but Gracie pushed the leg off. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jorge Briagga dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Gracie with a poor takedown and Briagga counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Briagga. Briagga tries to free his leg and advance position but Gracie is retaining full guard. Briagga sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gracie's guard. Gracie tries to roll over but Briagga keeps him under control. Briagga frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Gracie defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Briagga. Gracie wants to control but Briagga is having none of it. Briagga looking to secure an arm triangle but Gracie defends it well. Briagga looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Briagga with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie holds of for dear life. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gracie is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Briagga wants to control the pace but Gracie is squirming around nicely. Jorge Briagga overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Briagga has control of Gracie's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Gracie regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Briagga goes for an armbar but Gracie turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Gracie. Gracie stays in close to Briagga's body and controls the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Briagga is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Briagga looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Briagga looking for a triangle here. Gracie is fighting it but it looks tight! Briagga pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Gracie is tapping out - this one is all over!
