Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Castle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rob Tate! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Chad Campbell and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tate scores a takedown into full mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. BOOM! Tate connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Tate wants to finish this one by submission but Castle is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Tate. Castle tries to lock up and control but Tate gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Tate cracks Castle with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Tate wants to control the pace but Castle is squirming around nicely. Tate content just to control the position here. Castle tries to hold on but Tate postures up. Castle is looking to get to half guard. Tate working the ground and pound effectively.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tate unloading with bombs! Castle slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Tate thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Castle's head. Tate slows the pace down in half guard. Tate lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Castle is refusing to be controlled, as Tate sits in half guard. Tate working Castle over with strikes. Tate lands with a punch from half guard.
Castle is rocked! Ground and pound from Tate. Oh Castle is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Castle trying to control from the bottom.
Tate slips a nice elbow through Castle's hands, connecting with Castle's forehead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tate working the head and body with strikes. Tate lands a big elbow - Castle is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Tate!
