Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between amberger sabio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luis Figueira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luis Figueira looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, amberger sabio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luis Figueira!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Figueira gets caught flat footed, as sabio shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
sabio pushes down on Figueira's leg and manages to get into half guard.
sabio scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
sabio thows a huge punch but Figueira dodges it nicely.
sabio tries to pass the half guard into mount. Figueira knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Figueira has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. sabio is working away from the top position though.
sabio is working for a submission of some sort.
Figueira flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
sabio wants to advance to full mount but Figueira doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

sabio wants to stand but Figueira is controlling his posture from full guard.
sabio will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
sabio is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Figueira tries to land a sweep but no joy.
sabio lands a couple of decent looking shots.
sabio wants to control from the top but Figueira keeps moving.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
sabio controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

sabio decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Figueira, up you get!
Figueira misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from sabio.

sabio tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

sabio is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Figueira is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
sabio throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Figueira really doesn't want to stay on the ground with sabio. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Figueira gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
sabio thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Figueira's head.

sabio has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
sabio decides to return to a standing position.
Figueira is on the wrong end of a nice combination from sabio.

and sabio counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Figueira wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
sabio ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. sabio no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

sabio uses the cage to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Figueira shoots in for a takedown but sabio shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
sabio tries to close the distance and clinch but Figueira swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

sabio is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Figueira wants to get up but he can't break sabio's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Figueira seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

sabio escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Figueira gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Figueira advances to half guard.
sabio is staying active underneath Figueira, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
sabio is trying to control but can't.
sabio preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
sabio makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Figueira fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. sabio looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Figueira avoids a punch combination nicely.
A left and a right from Figueira both land. Nice combination.
sabio shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Figueira manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
sabio stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Figueira swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

and Figueira makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

sabio goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Figueira turns into him and now he's in sabio's guard.

Figueira stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. sabio swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

sabio sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Figueira's guard.
sabio wants to free his trapped foot but Figueira is holding on for dear life with his legs.
sabio is keen to just control but Figueira is a slippery customer.
And that's the end of the fight!

Well sabio has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
