The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Overeem throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Overeem slips a jab and a cross from Danielson.
Danielson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Danielson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Danielson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Overeem moves away.
A big right from Danielson misses.
Danielson throws a hook to the side of Overeem's head but Overeem sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Overeem ducks under a wild hook from Danielson.
Danielson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Danielson misses with a wild combination.
Danielson loads up on a big right hand but Overeem slips the punch.
Overeem takes a jab right on the kisser.
Danielson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Danielson takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Danielson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Danielson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Overeem is breathing heavily.
Danielson missing with a left hand there. Overeem was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Danielson drops Overeem with a beautiful combination! Overeem stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Danielson is looking for the KO!
Overeem is rocked!
It looks like Alistair Overeem has been cut.
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Danielson engages and cracks Overeem with a massive lead left hook - Overeem tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Danielson is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
