PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Petr Hrdlica (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Myke Hawke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawke has chosen Cocksparrer - England belongs to me as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and Donald Grub.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawke misses with a series of wild punches.
Hawke tries to clinch there but Hrdlica circles away.
Hrdlica loads up on a big right hand but Hawke slips the punch.
Hawke moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Hrdlica misses with a double jab
and Hawke counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hawke throws a body punch but Hrdlica moves out of range.
Hrdlica fails with the takedown.
A swing and a miss from Hrdlica.
Hawke throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hrdlica throws a right and a left that Hawke avoids nicely.
Hawke drops his hands momentarily and Hrdlica takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

and Hrdlica counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Hrdlica passes Hawke's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Hrdlica drops an elbow to the side of Hawke's head.
Hrdlica is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Hrdlica tries to pass to full mount but Hawke defends it.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hrdlica in particular looking to stall.
Hawke is in trouble now - Hrdlica has advanced to mount!

Hrdlica stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Hawke tries to clinch but Hrdlica is having none of it.
Hawke shoots for a double leg takedown but Hrdlica sprawls well. He's pushed Hawke's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hawke misses with the combination.
Hrdlica on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Hrdlica takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Hawke stuns Hrdlica with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Hrdlica tries to keep at a distance but Hawke has taken the fight into the clinch.
Hawke stalling in the clinch but Hrdlica improves position.

Hrdlica manages to break the clinch.
Hawke misses with a double jab
and Hrdlica counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hawke gets caught flat footed, as Hrdlica shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Hawke has momentary wrist control but Hrdlica slips an elbow through the middle.

Hrdlica gets to his feet - Hawke follows without any prompting.
Hawke has his takedown stuffed
and Hrdlica counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Petr Hrdlica has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Myke Hawke.
Hrdlica thuds his right hand into Hawke's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Hawke takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Hawke dodges the punch combination from Hrdlica.
Hawke tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hrdlica swivels and escapes.

Hawke is rocked!

Hrdlica closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Hawke is still in real trouble! Can Hrdlica finish him?

Hawke is staying active underneath Hrdlica, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hawke trying to hold on to Hrdlica's head to control him but Hrdlica postures up.
Hawke seems to have recovered his senses.
Hrdlica wants to take a breather but Hawke is having none of it.
Hrdlica looks to land a strike but Hawke avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Hrdlica postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hawke is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hrdlica, into his guard.
Hawke wants to control from the top but Hrdlica keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hrdlica has control of Hawke's left arm, preventing Hawke from doing any damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hrdlica has his feet on Hawke's thighs here. He's pushed Hawke off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Hawke screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
